Each participant of this project was photographed and given a print of their portrait. We were then asked to create an artwork about self using the portrait of ourselves. There were no rules or restrictions. This is my piece.

“You get your crazy from your mother” is one of the most memorable phrases ever spoken to me. Over time, I have come to realize that crazy is not the only common character trait the two of us share; we have turned out to be remarkably similar people despite drastically different upbringings and life paths. For me, there is no greater compliment than this comparison of mother and daughter. If I were to write a definition of myself, it would surely branch from the definition of my mother. She was my source of life and she is now the foundation on which I will build my future.
